Walmart has nearly tripled its online inventory, from 8 million assortments from 2015 to 23 million merchandises, in an effort to win the online shoppers and trump out the e-commerce giant Amazon, which has more than 353 million products in its marketplace — 12 million directly from its fulfillment centers and the rest from third-party vendors.
