CEBU CITY, Philippines — Two of the “top drug personalities” in Mandaue City in Cebu province were shot in two separate police operations on early Wednesday, while another was wounded after he was shot by unidentified motorcycle-riding gunmen Tuesday evening.
Elvin Sison, 32-year-old, a nephew of Mandaue City Councilor Carmelino Del Mar, was killed after he was shot by a police officer, who were serving a search warrant against him around at 4 A.M. on Wednesday.
The Police Officer 1 Ryan Heyrosa of Mandaue Philippine National Police (PNP) Station 1, was wounded in the incident.
Heyrosa said that Sison, the top 1 in the drug watch list of Police Station 1 in the province, first fired his gun, prompting the policemen to shoot him back.
Sison sustained several gunshot wounds in his body, resulting to his death.
In Barangay Umapad, Raymond Bolanon, 24-year-old, suffered three gunshot wounds in his chest.
The PNP said Bolanon, who is also top drug watch list in the Mandaue Police Station 5, was shot dead by the policemen after he first fired his .22 revolver past 5 A.M. on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, on Tuesday night, Joseph Rata, a top 5 drug personality in the list of Mandaue Police Station 2, was wounded after he was shot by a couple of gunmen on-board a motorcycle.
Rata was rushed to a medical Hospital in Cebu City for a necessary treatment.
On Monday, a big-time drug pusher who allegedly had links with a southern Cebu-based drug kingpin died in a shootout operation in a motel compound in Barangay Mabolo, Cebu City.
