Manila, Philippines — For many years, Adamson Soaring Falcons head coach Franz Pumaren was associated with the De La Salle Green Archers.

With the Taft-based men’s basketball varsity team representing De La Salle University (DLSU), Pumaren won a total of five University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) championship titles. All the while establishing a reputation as a head coach who will make his squad continuously converge his opponents on defense.

On September 24, for the first time since his departure from the intercollegiate athletic association dating back in 2009, Pumaren will once again share the hardcourt with the De La Salle Green Archers. However, this time Pumaren will be on the side of opposing team.

“Its going to be weird,” Adamson head coach Pumaren calimed after defeating the the National University Bulldogs for the sole second seed of the season 79. “I will be seeing old friends.”

Pumaren asserted that when asked if he was anticipating his reunion with the DLSU Green Archers, he would answer that he was quite excited before the season-opener of the UAAP season 79 against the University of the Philippines Fighting Maroons.

“To be candid about it, I was excited during my first game against UP,” Pumaren said. “It was just a welcome thing for me coaching in the collegiate level again.”

The second seeder Adamson Soaring Falcons realize that they will have a tough matchup ahead against the Green Archers.

“I have seen them, they have all the materials. They have been the favorite team from the start,” Pumaren claimed. “It will be a fun game. I hope that we can sustain our run, keep the game close.”

“We will see what happens next,” Pumaren added. — Cetureon.com
