MANILA, Philippines – The American professional wrestler and actor Paul Randall Wight Jr., better known by his World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE)’s name Big Show, has made an impact on the Manila crowd during his match against John Cena at the Mall of Asia (MOA) Arena on Friday night, September 9. It was WWE’s first live wrestling event in the country in 7 years, and Big Show made sure fans wouldn’t forget at least one thing about his show against John Cena.

As Big Show went for a corner splash from the second rope of the ring, when the 7-footer wrestler snapped the rope and came crashing down. John Cena played the occurrence as best he could, delivering his trademark attack “5-Knuckle Shuffle” on the Big Show. The video clip of Big Show’s unintentional rope occurrence went viral over the social media.

The wrestling match continued on with only two ropes in the ring, with Big Show missing his weapon off mass destruction punch and falling into John Cena’s clutches. After the match, an intermission was ordered to fix the broken rope of the ring to accommodate the rest of the matches.

John Cena prevented a pretty serious injury during their match in Manila when the rope on which Big Show was standing quickly snapped, sending him tumbling to the wrestling mat. John Cena rolled to the other side of the ring to avoid the impact.

Meanwhile, despite the accident, Big Show will continue to put on a show that includes rope standing move, according to multiple sources connected with the WWE. If it happened again and someone got injured, the WWE could be facing a serious liability case.
