Eli Ankou has three workouts planned over the next couple weeks as National Football League (NFL) franchises continue to evaluate the talented defensive tackle from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).
The Canadian defensive lineman Eli Ankou will attend the local day for the college talent with both the Los Angeles Chargers and the Los Angeles Rams. In addition to Chargers and Rams, a league source tells The Cetureon that Eli Ankou has an April 23 visit and workout scheduled with the Indianapolis Colts.
Eli Ankou, two-year starter at UCLA, is a thick defensive tackle who is pretty big enough to play in a 3-4 but has good lateral quickness for a 4-3.
Last season, Eli Ankou recorded a 38 tackles as a senior at UCLA. The 6’3 tall, 331 pounds draft prospect had 47 tackles as a junior.
Ankou ran a 5.21 40-yard dash at his Pro Day and also registered 31 reps on the bench press. Those figures would have been amongst the best for interior defensive linemen at the 2017 NFL Combine.
Whoever selected the UCLA product in the upcoming 2017 NFL Draft also will get a versatile player: Ankou three times was named to the Athletic Director’s Academic Honor Roll.
